  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, cashews) (optional)

Ingredients for Puri:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Water, as needed

Instructions for Suji Halwa:

  • Heat ghee in a pan and add suji. Fry until golden brown.
  • Add sugar, water, and milk. Stir well.
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the halwa has thickened and the semolina is fully cooked.
  • Add cardamom powder and chopped nuts (if using) and stir well.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature.

Instructions for Puri:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix well.
  • Add oil and mix until the flour resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them into small circles using a rolling pin.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully drop the flattened dough into the hot oil.
  • Fry until they puff up and turn golden brown.
  • Remove from heat and drain on a paper towel.
